Earlier this year it was explained in the newsletter that there will be a new Attendance Policy for Victorian schools.
We all know that daily attendance is important for all children and young people to succeed in education and to ensure they do not fall behind both socially and developmentally. School participation maximises life opportunities for children and young people by providing them with education and support networks. School helps people to develop important skills, knowledge and values that set them up for further
learning and participation in their community.
Students are expected to attend Brunswick East Primary School during normal school hours every day of each term unless there is an approved exemption from school attendance for the student, this includes holidays or illness.
The first thing that we will be doing at Brunswick East Primary School to implement this Policy is to ask parents to notify us of student absences by 8:45am on the first day of absence.
Do this by emailing email@example.com or ringing Brunswick East Primary School on 9387 3361.
NAPLAN will take place next week for all Year 3 and Year 5 students:
- Tuesday 15th May: Language Conventions and Writing
- Wednesday 16th May: Reading
- Thursday 17th May: Numeracy
If you wish to know more about the NAPLAN assessment, feel free to investigate this website further (http://www.nap.edu.au), talk to your child, or check in with Janet or the LC teachers.
3-way conferences are on 21, 25, 27 June.
Information will be out soon so that you are able to book a time.
For those of you who are new to 3-way conferences – this conference is a celebration of the student learning and reporting of learning growth.
If you are away during the 3-way conferences, as a few families will be, I am sorry but teachers will not be able to make up these conferences. It is important that the teacher’s hours are not extended beyond what is reasonable.

Kids can get their groove on in the Disco – it’s a noisy one this year so everyone can dance to the same beat. Or for a quieter experience, kids will love patting and cuddling the cute farm animals.
Order your pass now at the great-value EARLYBIRD price of $25, only until 19 November.
(Passes ordered from 20 November will be $30.)
Visit the Twilight Market website to order and for more information.
Last year’s video of the BEPS concert Multiverse is still available for you to view and enjoy. This is the full concert experience out now on VIMEO!
